                   GS/OS system 5.0 and SWCP
                   -------------------------

GS/OS system 5.0 has changed in many ways for the better. Faster screens,
faster drivers, and faster switches between GS/OS and ProDOS 8. One side
effect of the fast P8->GS/OS changing is the fact that GS/OS remains in
memory while P8 is running. This includes device drivers. While this
is beneficial for obvious reasons, it presents SWCP with special problems.

Previously, if you ran SWCP, switched a slot setting, and returned to
your GS/OS launcher, it was possible to switch slots and change which
disk devices were online. This happened because GS/OS reloaded all
all needed drivers on the switch back to GS/OS.

Since GS/OS no longer reloads the drivers, you must reboot after making
a slot change if you want to bring a new device online. In other words,
just like you normally do with the control panel desk accessory. Easiest
thing to do is to add a "RB" at the end of a disk device slot switch
command.

If you change a slot while launching a P8 program like the PC Transporter,
you will be ok because SWCP will set the slot back the way it was when
the program was launched.
