This file describes recent changes and features added to SWCP that
are not described in the documentation file SWCP.DOC. The changes
marked with a "$$" require shareware payment to function. Note that
SWCP.DOC may be present in another library file if you downloaded SWCP
from a bulletin board. This is not the full documentation file.

                          Version 2.7

        1) DL command. This is a command to set the current display
language. It uses the same arguments as the KL keyboard
language command. For example DL2 will set the display
            to French:

                          Language Code
                          -------- ----
                          English USA 0
                          English UK 1
                          French 2
                          Danish 3
                          Spanish 4
                          Italian 5
                          German 6
                          Swedish 7
                          Dvorak 8
                          French Canadian 9

        2) RD command. Sets ramdisk size in 32K increments. For
example, RD800 sets an 800K ramdisk (1600 blocks). This
command automatically performs a cold, power boot, so
previous /RAM5 contents are lost! RD0 disables the ramdisk
            totally.

        3) Prompt added to insert disk if executable file not found.
This allows floppy disks to be inserted in not online.

        4) Some prebuilt launch files have been included with this
release. These are some of my most used command strings
and hopefully you will find them useful. Just execute
the files to run them. They can be renamed but they
must be located in the same directory as SWCP.

Note: These are the only launch files that will run on the
unregistered version. Once you are registered, you can
create your own launch files using the configuration program
(accessed by command CF, or run SWCP.BAS from Applesoft).

            File Command Function
            ---- ------- --------

BOOT3.5 PDP5RB Boots 3.5 floppy no matter what
                                        your permanent startup disk is.

BOOT6 PDI6P6RB Temporarily sets boot slot to
the smartport floppy and boots it.

BOOT6.SLOW PDI6P6SSRB Same as BOOT6, except set system
                                        speed slow before booting.

            RAM5.800K RD800 Setup a 800K /RAM5. This will
                                        cause a power-down reboot and
                                        any previous contents are lost.

            RAM5.0K RD0 Get rid of /RAM5 entirely.

LASER.BOOT PEE1I7RS If you have both Laserwriter and
                                        Imagewriter (serial) printer
attached to a switchbox on the
printer port, this lets you boot
quickly to the LASER. The slot
settings are for ROM 01 machines.

IMAGE.BOOT PEI1E7RS Opposite of above. Used to switch
back to the serial printer. You
                                        must switch the switchbox manually
                                        before using either command.

                          Version 2.6

$$ 1) SA command. This is a command to set accelerated speed
on the TransWarpGS. SS sets slow speed as always, but
if TWGS is present, then SF sets to the original control
panel fast speed of 2.6 MHz. Warning: the TWGS control
panel has its own memory and likes to set the speed to
what it thinks it should be. You could be set back to
another speed setting inadverdantly if you enter the
TWGS control panel after making a change with SWCP.

If the LED is lit on the TWGS, you are in accelerated speed.

        2) SG command. This command will set a guard on manual access
to the control panel. Use the RG command to re-enable access.
There are actually two guards, the guard on the control panel
access, and the guard on any non-permanent changes. The
status line in the SWCP menu has been changed to reflect this:

                   PERM/GUARD: D/GP
                                ^ ^^
                                | ||
                                | |+--- present if non-perm guard active
                                | |
                                | +---- present if manual access guard active
                                |
+------ Enabled or Disabled changes in effect

            RG removes both guard types!!

$$ 3) The configuration program now has an option to set support for
another type of PC Transporter extended keyboard. If your LED's
are reversed, try setting keyboard type "1".

        4) Quit restore of permanent changes now work correctly.

        5) Press ESC to exit the SWCP menu.

                          Version 2.51

        1) Bug fixes regarding running from ProDos 8 bootups. If you
have had trouble running 2.5 without booting GS/OS first,
this should fix it. All executables (SWCP, SWCP.SYS, and
SWCP.BAS) have been modified. Delete all launch files
            created with v2.5.

                          Version 2.5

$$ 1) PC command. The PC command is used to add Apple Extended
Keyboard support while launching the PC Transporter file
AEPC.SYSTEM. This allows you to use the extended keyboard's
function keys under MSDOS, which saves desktop space as you
no longer need to attach a separate PC keyboard. You must
use version 1.30 of the PC Transporter for this command
to work. Contact Applied Engineering for an update if
you do not have this version.

Your keyboard will come up under MSDOS with NumLock enabled.
The Open-Apple, Option functions have been swapped in order
to place the Alt keys where they appear on the keycaps. All
Closed-Apple functions described under the GS keyboard map
will still function, but you must use the Open-Apple key
           instead.

$$ 2) Make launch file capability. Using the configuration program,
you can now construct small launch programs that startup SWCP
and pass it a command. This should increase the usefulness of
SWCP if you use the FINDER. You can also use this feature to
create disks that run a fixed SWCP command on boot if you call
the file SWCP.SYSTEM. The file SWCP.SYS serves as the template
for this new feature. It must be present in the SWCP directory
so please do not store over it or delete it accidently. Created
launch files are stored and executed from the SWCP directory.
All SWCP command forms are possible, but syntax checking is not
           done by the configuration program.

        3) MF and MS commands. These commands set mouse speed fast or slow.

        4) Updated reset commands. These commands have been rewritten to
           work better with Appletalk.

        5) Launch after switch. Launching of program files is now done
after switching, allowing the capability of switching in a
disk and running a program on it. This means SWCP can no
longer easily tell the difference between directory and
executable files. To prevent problems when setting prefixes
in command lines, always specify prefixes with a trailing
           slash:

                        /HARD1/;BASIC.SYSTEM;T1

        6) Disk status check change. This is a bug fix which should help
recognize more controller cards. It should also fix some of
the problems reported with slot 6 and floppy drives.
